RA mainly affects the synovium of joints but can extend to affect multiple organs (Smeltzer, Bare, Hinkle, & Cheever, 2010). RA may be acute in nature occurring at any age including children and is more common in women than in men.Osteoarthritis (OA), on the contrary, is a joint limited chronic arthropathy that presents with destruction of joint cartilage. OA is a degenerative disease that has a gradual onset causing joint pain, stiffness and rarely joint swelling. OA characteristically affects the older people and is more common compared to RA.Nursing CareNursing care (NC) in both conditions demands pain management using drugs. The NC also involves maintaining or improving joint mobility, implementing exercise programs to increase joint motion and muscle strength. However, in RA the NC aims at suppressing the inflammation and masking the autoimmune disorder that causes self-tissue attacks. To achieve the desired outcome, anti-inflammatory and disease-modifying agents are compulsory in RA.Factors that Increase Severity of ArthritisSeverity of RA depends on the genetic makeup of a person and run in most families with the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) gene. The inventors of the chicken sandwich, Chick-Fil-A, are in hot water these days following comments made by their president, Dan Cathy, who said the company was "guilty as charged" in its stance against gay marriage. The controversy began when Cathy elaborated on his "guilty as charged" comment saying "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage." To anyone one familiar with the family-owned chicken chain, Cathy's views should come as little surprise. All of the chain's 1,600 restaurants nationwide are closed on Sundays, the Christian Sabbath, to allow employees to "worship if they choose to," a decision that was "as much practical as spiritual" according to the company's website. In a day and age where almost four percent of Americans are shown to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, it is bad for business to say that they are wrong and being heterosexual is right. Johns-Manville Company has several law suits related to asbestos, and it is said that all those who worked with the company suffered lung cancer owing to asbestos. This problem could be solved from the consequentialist (utilitarian) point of view where the company or companies who violate the requirements and ethical principles related to the matter are warned of dire consequences. The consequences should not be in the form of simple fines which they can be able to raise easily. Instead, it should be huge and even go to the extent of closure of the entire premises. These consequences should not be threats which are not transformed into reality, but should be enforced so as to instill discipline and compliance among the adamant management to save lives of people.
